Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has expressed his opinion that his former club, now under co-owner Todd Boehly, should consider signing Ivan Toney, the striker for Brentford, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Cundy, Toney could be an ideal fit for Chelsea if he joins the team.
Chelsea has expressed interest in signing a No.9 in the summer transfer window to strengthen their attacking options.
Cundy is in favour of this move and believes that Toney has the potential to be a perfect addition to Chelsea’s team.
Cundy also acknowledged that Toney had had some issues related to a betting situation off the field.
Still, he believes the situation should be assessed before making final decisions about Toney’s signing.
Cundy stated that Toney looks and plays like a Chelsea centre-forward and that the team needs a rugged, hard, clever, and intelligent player up front, which Toney could provide.
Additionally, Toney has previous experience playing in the Premier League, which could make him a valuable asset to Chelsea.
