An Amazon delivery driver in North Carolina has gained attention after walking into the middle of an active police standoff to deliver a package.
In a video that went viral, the driver can be seen approaching the apartment complex surrounded by police vehicles and handing the package to a SWAT officer. He then took a photo of the delivery before leaving the scene.
The driver was apparently unaware that he had entered an hours-long standoff in Cary, North Carolina, which ultimately ended with a man taking his own life.
The incident involved multiple law enforcement agencies and hundreds of officers.
Despite the police perimeter set up around the apartment complex, the Amazon driver proceeded with his delivery. Amazon’s delivery guarantee page states that if a guaranteed delivery date is not met, the company will refund any shipping fees associated with the order.
Some TikTok commenters suggested the driver was taking the corporate promise seriously, with one user writing, “More scared of Jeff Bezos than getting taken out.”
