Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he has no need for the involvement of either the Nigeria Police Force or the Nigerian Army in order to rig any election.
The statement was made during a media chat that took place on Wednesday morning in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
Wike, who is a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was responding to speculations regarding the outcome of the recent presidential, national assembly, governorship, and house of assembly elections that were held in the state.
He stated, “I don’t need the Police or the Army to rig an election. It is only those who have nothing to offer that rely on security agencies to help them rig elections. I don’t need it.”
