PasigPass is a citywide application that is required for access to all city government offices and institutions, malls, commercial establishments, religious institutions, and educational institutions. It is also required for people above the age of 18 to access city services. Its benefits include speeding up contact tracing and other government services. It complies with the Data Privacy Act. Pasig government maintains strict compliance with this act. While the system does not provide detailed information on a person’s location, it is a more effective option than manual contact tracing forms.
PasigPass is a city-wide application for other services of the LGU
The city government of Pasig has made tremendous strides in digitalization in the past few years. The implementation of the Pasig Pass application is a landmark achievement in the city’s digitization efforts. It has been mandated by the city to implement a contact tracing application for establishments and residents. The application is a multi-use application which enables residents and establishments to access services and other resources. The PasigPass is also useful for containing the Covid-19 pandemic, as the City Health Department has made efforts to implement this system in its various facilities.
The city government has also focused on improving its medical response capability. The city government set up the Pasig Health Monitor to develop a central database of residents’ medical records and an integrated inventory of the city’s health resources. The city government also built its own molecular diagnostic laboratory to develop better test procedures. The city now offers a no-downpayment policy for medical services, which encourages citizens to avail of them.
It is compliant with the Data Privacy Act
While some residents might question whether Pasigpass is indeed compliant with the Data Privacy Act, the city government maintains that it does. For instance, the city’s government offices require that people have a valid PasigPass when they enter a government building, mall, or commercial establishment. PasigPass is also effective in containing the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is also more convenient than filling out contact tracing forms manually.
One of the most important parts of a privacy notice is the relationship between the entity and the Data Subject. If the LGU and the Data Subject are joint controllers, the latter must have informed the Data Subject about the relationship. If the information is being used for election or other purposes, the joint controller should be a merger-partner. The data must also be authenticated using the LCR. While PasigPass does have a privacy notice, it doesn’t contain any contact information for its Data Protection Officer.
It is not a contact tracing app
The use of PasigPass to track the movements of people is not contact tracing. This citywide application is not a contact tracing app. Instead, it is a security system mandated by the city government. This system does not discriminate against those who are not smart phones users or do not have internet connections. It also complies with the country’s Data Privacy Act.
According to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Pasig Pass is not a contact tracing app, but is part of a contact tracing system for the city. It works with a quick response code system and sends data to a dashboard which is linked to the Pasig Health Monitor. The system then isolates people whose close contact has tested positive for COVID-19.
The city is a pioneer in the use of contact tracing systems, including the S-PaSS app. The application makes it possible to track people whose location is unknown. Besides that, PasigPass also offers a variety of safety features, including GPS location tracking, which can alert authorities to suspicious activities. It also helps identify people’s locations, so investigators can trace criminals and avoid contact tracing.
It is only accessible to contact tracers
It seems that Pasig is a city that has gone all out to improve the lives of its citizens. Pasig City has made great strides to create a safer city, and Mayor Vico Sotto has done his part to continue that progress. Having the highest level of trust in Metro Manila, Pasig has also mandated the implementation of PasigPass, a digital contact tracing scheme that is accessible to contact tracers. However, not all establishments and residents have been mandated to use Pasig Pass.
In order to make contact tracing more efficient, the city has introduced a QR code system known as PasigPass. This contact tracing solution runs on a quick response code system, ensuring the safety of private information and facilitating the process. This QR code will prevent individuals from entering establishments that require it and will keep contact tracers safe. Using the system is more efficient and hassle-free than completing a paper-and-pencil contact tracing form.
