Paul Grant, a well-known actor famous for his roles in Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Labyrinth, passed away at 56 after a long battle with drugs and alcohol.
Mr Grant collapsed outside King’s Cross station in London and was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brain dead. His family switched off his life support machine on Sunday.
In a recent interview just weeks before his death, Mr Grant revealed that he had been “drinking too much” and admitted to “blowing” his Star Wars fortune on sex workers and drugs.
The actor had spoken out about his struggles with addiction almost a decade ago when photos of him snorting cocaine surfaced online.
Mr Grant had turned to drink, drugs, and prostitutes after splitting from his wife and being rescued from the streets.
Mr Grant leaves behind a girlfriend, two daughters, a son, stepchildren, and grandchildren.
His daughter, Sophie Jayne Grant, described him as a “legend in so many ways” and said she was devastated by his passing.
Mr Grant’s girlfriend Maria Dwyer described him as the love of her life who made her life complete.
