The family of a 21-year-old Chicago woman, Rosa Chacon, is grieving after her body was found tied in a laundry cart and wrapped in sheets two months after she went missing.
Rosa was last seen entering an Uber on January 18. She left her belongings, including her ID, at home and did not inform her family about her destination.
Rosa’s body was discovered in a suburban Chicago neighborhood, and her cause of death is still pending. Her family identified her through her tattoos.
Before she disappeared, Rosa told her mother she had an Uber ride to and from her destination. The following morning, she called her mother for a ride from an unknown location, but the call was cut off.
The family claims that the police did not provide much assistance when they reported her as a missing person. With the help of a private investigator hired by the family, Rosa’s body was found on March 6.
The private investigator, Jose L. Richart, said they began their investigation by obtaining Rosa’s phone records and speaking to numerous individuals.
Rosa’s community is now offering a $15,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of her killer.
