In Durban on Tuesday afternoon, a drive-by shooting occurred in which multiple individuals, including a child, were shot.
Emergency services and paramedics are currently at the scene, and the story is still developing.
The incident follows the fatal shooting of two men on Carters Avenue in Berea, approximately 6km away. It is unclear if the two shootings are related.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen reported that paramedics and ALS paramedic services responded to the scene of the Carters Avenue shooting at around noon on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, they found two men with multiple gunshot wounds.
One man was declared dead on the scene, and the other was in critical condition.
Although advanced life support resuscitation efforts were attempted, the second man also succumbed to his injuries.
According to van Reenen, the circumstances leading up to the incident are uncertain and will be investigated by the South African Police Services.
