At Karen’s Diner, an insult-friendly establishment in Manchester, UK, a 17-year-old British teenager discovered what it takes to be expelled.
The young man, Jack Keith, was dining with his mother and grandparents when he referred to a waitress as a “fat slag.” Within a mere 10 minutes, the family was asked to leave and pay their $30 drinks bill.
The teen’s inappropriate comment had gone against the restaurant chain’s policies, which specifically forbid body-shaming. In addition to this rule, Karen’s Diner has a strict stance against a range of other offensive behaviors. These include racist, sexist, homophobic, or ableist comments and slurs.
Furthermore, the establishment takes a firm position against sexual harassment, vandalism, and food-throwing incidents.
By crossing the line with his body-shaming remark, Jack Keith found himself on the wrong side of the diner’s regulations.
