Wells, who is in his first year at the Force, works with his leadership group to provide a ‘good cop, bad cop’ routine during reviews.
He tends to be more critical of the players, while others in the leadership group provide support.
According to Wells, finding the right balance is crucial, and the leadership group needs to know when to incentivize players and when to deliver hard truths.
The Force will face the Blues at Eden Park on Sunday, who have had an inconsistent start to their season.
They won their opening game against the Highlanders, lost to the Brumbies, beat the Hurricanes, and lost to the Crusaders last week.
The Force is currently in eighth place on the ladder with a 2-2 record.
