Avoid Harsh Chemicals

If you want to grow thick, healthy locks, you should avoid harsh chemicals in your hair care products. The main culprits are PEG, diethanolamine, and SLS. These chemicals can cause a wide range of skin and eye irritation and can even cause bad allergic reactions. Furthermore, they can damage the essential components of hair such as keratin and elastin. So, it’s important to avoid these products to grow healthy locks.

First of all, avoid hair products with sulfates, which contain hormone-disrupting agents. According to the Natural Society, many sulfates contain dioxane, which is a known carcinogen and disrupts kidney function. You should also stay away from parabens, which are often listed as an ingredient in hair products, because they are chemically similar to human hormones.

Eat a Balanced Diet

Eating a balanced diet is essential for healthy hair. You should include plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your diet. If you have thinning hair, you may be deficient in one or more vitamins or minerals, so you should make sure to include these foods in your diet. To promote healthy hair, eat a balanced diet with a high amount of whole grains. You should also include buckwheat, a gluten-free seed packed with fiber and antioxidants. Avoid Split Ends

You can avoid split ends when growing healthy hair by trimming the ends of your hair. Split ends are caused by overexposure to the sun and heat. The UV rays of the sun dry the hair, which is why it’s important to protect your hair from the sun and avoid spending too much time in the sun. Besides, wearing sun-protectant spray on your hair will also prevent split ends. However, you can’t totally avoid split ends.

Oil Your Hair

The first step in oiling your hair for healthy tresses is to thoroughly wash it before applying any type of oil. You should make sure to apply oil in the roots of your hair. Once you’ve done this, you should massage it deeply into your scalp and leave it for at least 10-15 minutes before shampooing it. To get the most out of your oil, experiment with different types and frequencies of oiling. While oiling your hair every day is tempting, it’s likely to ruin your natural oils and cause your hair to become greasy or too dry.

Besides providing essential fatty acids, oils have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. This helps to prevent bacterial and fungal infections. Moreover, oils help to balance moisture levels in the scalp and hair, thus reducing the chances of dandruff and hair loss. To maximize the benefits of hair oils, you should always follow the proper techniques of oiling. Follow these guidelines to maintain healthy tresses.

Avoid Excessive Shampooing

Excessive shampooing can damage your hair, resulting in breakage and dryness. Instead, focus on moisturizing, conditioning, and avoiding overcleansing. For healthy hair, you can use a mild shampoo or conditioner that will leave your hair smelling fresh. Regular shampooing can dry your hair and aggravate some conditions.
