Lil Nas X faces criticism on social media again due to an insensitive tweet he made about the LGBTQ community in Africa.
The tweet, which asks where the gays are in Africa, has received backlash because of the anti-gay legislation recently passed in Uganda.
The law is one of the most severe anti-gay legislations in the world, and it punishes people with up to 10 years in prison for simply identifying as LGBTQ+.
Moreover, citizens can be sentenced to life behind bars for engaging in gay sex acts, and in some cases, they can even be sentenced to death.
Following Lil Nas X’s tweet, people quickly took to social media to express their anger and frustration towards what they see as a dangerous message.
Some even pointed out that the tweet was insensitive, especially after Uganda announced the harsh punishment for identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
This is not the first time Lil Nas X has faced criticism for his social media postings.
He recently apologized for making a trans joke online.
Lil Nas X has yet to comment on the backlash his tweet has received.
